If your patients are experiencing side effects from their medications,
taking 5 or more drugs, or have chronic conditions like neuropsychiatric disorders, cardiovascular disease, chronic pain, cancer, high blood pressure, or diabetes, etc, they may greatly benefit from PGx testing.

  • What is Pharmacogenomics Testing?
Pharmacogenetic testing is a revolutionary approach that uses your genetic information to tailor medical treatments specifically to you. By analyzing your genes, this testing helps your healthcare provider choose the most effective medication and dosage for your unique genetic makeup. It's like having a personalized prescription designed just for you. These tests are simple and non-invasive, usually requiring only a sample of saliva, blood, or cheek cells. This information can make a significant difference in how you respond to medications, ensuring that you receive the most suitable treatment with minimal side effects. Embrace the future of healthcare with pharmacogenetic testing - it's precision medicine at its best!
  • What is Pharmacogenomics
Pharmacogenomics, a term derived from "pharmacology" and "genomics," plays a pivotal role in understanding how our genetic makeup influences our response to medications. This field is an integral part of precision medicine, tailoring treatments based on genetics, environment, and lifestyle factors. By utilizing pharmacogenomics, healthcare providers can prescribe medications with reduced side effects or enhanced efficacy for individual patients.
  • How long does it take to get the results of a PGx Test?
When it comes to pharmacogenomics testing, quick results are key. Typically, we advise patients to schedule a follow-up clinic visit around 14 days after sending their sample to the lab.
  • What does the Lab do with my DNA sample?
Unlike a hereditary DNA test, the lab only analyze very specific genes related to drug metabolism. The lab does not keep, store or use your genetic data in any way, other than necessary for processing your report. The lab destroy your sample once it is processed.
  • What Medications are Commonly Affected by Pharmacogenomics (PGx)?
Cardiovascular Lipitor Coumadin Plavix Micardis Coreg Lopressor Demadex Pravachol Crestor Zocor Ranexa Tambocor Rhythmol Cozaar/Hyzaar Eliquis Pradaxa Arixtra Xarelto Brilinta Zontivity Zebeta Mevacor Atacand Avapro Benicar Valsartan Many more... • Who Qualifies for Pharmacogenomics Testing?
Pharmacogenomics testing is a game-changer for specific groups of patients. If you fall into any of the following categories, this testing could be a crucial step towards your well-being: Patients managing multiple medications (5 or more) Patients on psychiatric, cardiology, Oncology medications, or PPIs (See Medication list) Teenagers, as Providers, can avoid the trial-and-error approach often associated with psychiatric medications. Patients with a history of adverse medication reactions Patients at risk for conditions requiring medications with known pharmacogenomic risks Patients who want quicker relief from symptoms, and overall better outcomes
